Recommended Books, Maps, and Videos

On my long photography trips through the West I usually take a basic library of six or seven reference books for each area to be visited:

I always bring some recreational reading, for falling asleep or a lazy day, typically a mystery in a western setting. And I usually bring along a more serious work of literature set in the area I will be visiting (see the Calfornia and Western reading lists).
