Don Bain's 360° Panoramas of
Santa Cruz, Monterey, Big Sur and the Central Coast
Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara Counties, California
The central California coast, as I have defined it here, runs from Santa Cruz County in the north to Point Conception in Santa Barbara County.
Many of the state's most famous and popular tourist destinations can be found here, ranging from old-fashioned fun on the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, to the historic town of Monterey, to religous retreats on the rugged Big Sur coast. The scenery is consistently spectacular, with cliffs, beaches, sand dunes, mile-high mountains, and a few beach towns. State parks and beaches protect much of the coast, and there is not a single highrise building along its 280-mile length.
