Don Bain's 360° Panoramas of
Yosemite and the Central Sierra Nevada
Yosemite National Park, California
Geologist Francois Matthes called Yosemite the Incomparable Valley, and it truly deserves the accolade, with its towering granite cliffs and astoundingly high waterfalls, wonderful forests, alpine meadows and rugged peaks. This is a huge park, running from the hot foothills to glaciated peaks, in fact it is larger than the state of Rhode Island.
Yosemite is a World Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World heritage Site. It has been protected as a public park since 1863, so it can be considered the oldest national park.
