Pierce Ranch on Tomales Point, Point Reyes National Seashore

The historic Pierce Ranch at the Tomales Point trailhead is now an historical exhibit. Though much of the peninsula continues to be utilized for milk production, this area is now designated as a tule elk refuge.

Elk Pond on Tomales Point, Point Reyes National Seashore

Elk Pond and tule elk on the Tomales Point Trail. This subspecies of elk disappeared from the peninsula before 1900, but was reintroduced in 1978.
