360° VR Panoramas of Las Vegas and Southern Nevada
Caliente
On Highway 93, Nevada

Caliente (Spanish for "hot") is literally that in summer, but the name comes not from the weather but from the hot springs. The springs were developed in the nineteenth century but they have lost much of their allure as medical fashions have changed. Heavy trains roar through town, right past the grand railway station of yesteryear. Kershaw-Ryan Park, nearby, is an oasis with abundant fresh water in a colorful canyon.
