Camp Curry in Yosemite Valley
Yosemite National Park, California

Camp Curry dates back to 1899 and has provided affordable accomodations ever since. It is a mix of tent cabins (canvas top, wooden floor), and rustic cabins. It has a large cafeteria, a couple of casual eateries, and a swimming pool. The campfire circle was the prime location for viewing the firefall from Glacier Point 3000 feet above.

Curry Village is located right at the base of the Glacier Point cliff. A massive rockfall in 2008 led to the removal of about one third of the rooms. New double-walled tent cabins resulted in an outbreak of hantavirus in 2012 in which eight people died. In 2016 a legal dispute required the name to be changed to Half Dome Village.
