Castle Rock State Park
In the Santa Cruz Mountains, California

Castle Rock is named for tafoni-riddled rock outcrops at the top of one of the highest ridges in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is a nexus for an extensive trail system, notably including the start of the Skyline to the Sea Trail.

Though there areas of redwood forest, the ridge tops here are characterized by tan oak, live oak, madrone, and knobcone pine.
