Just behind the beach the downtown section of Two Harbors has all necessary services - a snack bar, restaurant, general store, and rental of recreational and camping equipment.

A small permanent and larger summer population live in Two Harbors. All are employees of the Island Company, the Catalina Conservancy, or Los Angeles County.

There is a large campground with its own beach on the east side of Ishtmus Cove. When I was there in May I was the only one in the campground mid-week.

Historic Banning House in Two Harbors

Historic Banning House in Two Harbors

On the terrace of the historic Banning House, now a bed and breakfast. It was built in 1910 by the Banning family, at that time the time owners of the entire island.
