360° VR Panoramas of the Everglades and Florida Keys
Flamingo
Everglades National Park, Florida

Flamingo once featured a large lodge and cabins, as well as the visitor center and campgrounds. But the accommodations were destroyed (twice) by hurricanes and only the pink main building and part of the campground remains. It is the departure point for boat tours and launch site for several canoe trails.Wikipedia: Flamingo, Monroe County, Florida on Wikipedia.

Buttonwood Canal at Flamingo

Buttonwood Canal at Flamingo

Buttonwood Canal was dredged to provide direct access from Flamingo to a network of canoe trails. The change in water flow patterns was devastating to the natural environment and the mouth of the canal is now regulated by a small dam.
