360° VR Panoramas of the Northern California Coast, Coast Ranges, and Redwood Highway
Fort Ross - Inside the Stockade
Fort Ross State Historic Park, Sonoma County, California

Fort Ross consisted of a timber palisade, two bastions armed with cannons, residences, workshops, and several buildings for storage of valuable furs, food and other necessities. Being built of massive redwood timbers the fort and major buildings survived well.

The Russian Orthodox Chapel collapsed in the 1906 earthquake, was rebuilt, then was burned by vandals. As late as the 1960's the coastal highway ran right through the fort. The highway has now been re-routed, surviving buildings restored, and replicas of other buildings built.
