San Antonio River canoe launch at Goliad State Park

San Antonio River canoe launch at Goliad State Park

The San Antonio River loops through Goliad State Park and is popular with canoe and kayak paddlers. Soon after taking this photograph I managed to slip on the muddy bank and fall into the river. Luckily I was able to throw my tripod and camera back up the bank into the bushes as I went in waist-deep.

Campground at Goliad State Park

Campground at Goliad State Park

I spent two nights here and enjoyed riding my bicycle around the park and to the historic sites. There is the Goliad Mission almost within sight of the campground, the Presidio a mile south, and the town of Goliad a mile north. The weather was perfect, not too humid and cool at night.
