360° VR Panoramas of Northern and Central Nevada
Great Basin National Park
In the Snake Range south of Baker, Nevada

This is said to be the least visited national park in the 48 states. Which is a shame because it is a beauty. The park consists of the north end of the Snake Range, including Lehman Caves and 13, 063 foot Wheeler Peak (highest mountain entirely within Nevada - Boundary Peak on the California line is a bit higher).

There are alpine meadows, a rock glacier, and beautiful forests of bristlecone pines. It was here that the oldest tree ever discovered (later named Prometheus) was discovered and then cut down - see a cross section in the visitor center in Baker. My only complaint about Great Basin is that it is too small - opposition from Nevada's entrenched mining and grazing interests makes it politically impossible to expand it to include Mount Moriah, the entire Snake Range, and one or more of the adjacent valleys (as originally envisioned).

Mount Washington, in the backcountry of the park, is the proposed location for the "Clock of the Long Now", a timepiece designed to last 10,000 years. See Wikipedia. for details.
