Mount Hillers rises above the Red Desert

Mount Hillers rises above the Red Desert

Mount Hillers in the Henry Mountains and smaller peaks in the Little Rockies are geologically classed as laccoliths - molten rock pushed up underneath but did not erupt. The overlying strata was domed up and fractured and now has largely eroded away.
