360° VR Panoramas of Northern and Central Nevada
The Humboldt Ranges
South of Interstate 80 between Lovelock and Winnemucca, Nevada

A number of distinct mountain ridges both north and south of the middle stretch of the Humboldt River are known generically as the Humboldt Ranges. Gold mining both old and new has been the economic mainstay here, along with vast desert ranches. Mark Twain briefly had a job in a gold mine at Unionvile but quit because it "seemed too much like work".

This is lonely country with few people, except of course for the busy stream of traffic along Interstate 80.
