The Madison River at West Yellowstone

The Madison River at West Yellowstone

The Madison River begins in Yellowstone then flows gently west and north for 183 miles (295 km). At Three Forks it joins with the Jefferson and Gallatin Rivers to form the Missouri River, which continues another 2341 miles (3767 km) to the Mississippi River near St Louis. The combined length of these rivers is 3900 miles (6275 km), making it the fourth longest in the world.
