360° VR Panoramas of the Northern California Coast, Coast Ranges, and Redwood Highway
Manila and Lanphere Dunes
West of Arcata, California

The settlement of Manila straggles along the sandspit between Arcata Bay and the ocean. For years a struggle has been going on between destructive motorized recreation and the needs of wildlife. A four mile stretch running north from Manila has now been protected by a partnership between federal, state, and private landowners.
