San Fernando Convento

San Fernando Convento

The convento at San Fernando mission was, and still is, the largest adobe building in California. It is where the friars and a bishop lived. It deteriorated after secularization of the missions but was rstored in 1897, again in 1963, and repaired after damage in the 1971 San Fernando earthquake. It is the only original building at the mission.
