Manuel Peak Trail above the Big Sur Valley
Pfeiffer-Big Sur State Park and Los Padres National Forest, California

A daunting series of trail switchbacks can be seen rising from the forested Big Sur Valley and climbing to the shoulder of Mount Manuel above the Big Sur River Gorge. The trail continues around the corner and up to the summit of Manuel Peak at 3379 feet. It affords a view into the interior of the rugged and roadless Santa Lucia Range's Ventana Wilderness.
