Lee Circle on St Charles Avenue

Originally named Place du Tivoli, the circle was re-named after the 1884 dedication of the statue of Confederate hero General Robert E. Lee. A proposal has been made to remove the statue as well as others in the city honoring Civil War leaders.

New Orleans' tallest building

At 53 stories, One Shell Square is the tallest building in Louisiana. Built in 1972 it is virtually identical to the One Shell Plaza building in Houston. The facing is Italian travertine.

Accident on Carondelet Street

Accident on Carondelet Street

I just happend to be a few blocks away when this traffic accident occured. A distracted speeding driver hit a parked pickup truck then flipped over on its side - this photo shows the bottom of the car. There were serious injuries but no fatalities.
