360° VR Panoramas of Lake Tahoe, Northern Sierra, and the Gold Country
Plumas-Eureka State Park
Johnsville, California

This major state park features the old mining town of Johnsville plus the mining development around Eureka Mountain (originally Gold Mountain). The old miner's bunkhouse is now a fine local museum. Up the hill are several restored buildings, and the huge Mohawk Stamp Mill.

It was in these mining towns that nineteenth century residents first enjoyed downhill skiing, sometimes using the mine tramways to ascend the mountain.
