Once a busy commercial and industrial district, the waterfront south of Tower Bridge was demolished during construction of the I-5 freeway. It has now been converted into a pedestrian promenade with river views.

A good view of Sacramento's iconic Tower Bridge. This lift bridge was opened in 1935 and formed a dramatic link in the original Lincoln Highway. In 2002 it was painted golden, to match the capitol rotunda.
