360° VR Panoramas of Northern and Central Nevada
Ruth
West of Ely, Nevada

Of all the towns in the west with a legacy of mining, Ruth is perhaps the most extreme. The town barely exists, but the devastation of a century of mining stretches for miles. The huge open pits are south of the highway, but even if you just drive through you can't miss the mountain-sized waste heaps.
