360° VR Panoramas of Marin and the North Bay Counties
Saint Helena
In the Napa Valley, California

Saint Helena is the main town in the central Napa Valley, and serves the mundane needs of residents and farmers as well as the more luxurious requirements of affluent tourists. It is a charming small town, crowded into a short stretch of Main Street, which is also Highways 29 and 128. Traffic backs up in both directions from its two traffic lights and in summer congestion is a major nuisance.

Like other Napa Valley towns Saint Helena provides well for upscale eating, drinking, shopping, and staying overnight in luxury. Let me also mention that the best hamburger stand in the known world (i.e. known to me) is just south of town. Gotts Roadside is always busy - note the crowd in my picture, at 3pm on a cold cloudy day in November. If you can't make it to Saint Helena or their other stand in Napa, they also have one in the Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco.
