360° VR Panoramas of El Camino Real
San Luis Obispo
California

San Luis began as a Spanish mission, became an important farm town, then a railroad stop. It now owes much its character to being a college town. The California Polytechnic State University, known as Cal Poly, grew gradually from a high school in 1901, to a member of the state college system today, with more than 20,000 students.

In 1999 a project was begin to restore San Luis Creek, which runs right through the center of town. It is now ecologically healthy and lined with pathways and small parks.
