Sea Lion Point
Point Lobos State Reserve, California

In Spanish sea "lions" are referred to as "wolves" and this point was named Punta de los Lobos Marinos - point of the sea wolves. They still congregate on the rocks here and their distinctive barking and roaring can be easily heard.

A trail leads down onto the bare rocky shoreline, swept clear by winter storms. The cypress grove is seen across Headland Cove to the north.
