360° VR Panoramas of Marin and the North Bay Counties
Stinson Beach State Park
Marin County, California

Stinson Beach is the most popular beach for people from San Francisco, Marin, and the East Bay. It is long and broad and there is plenty of parking. A tiny town provides the essentials - a surf shop, a book store, and a market. The residential area spreads up the hill and ranges from funky to palatial.

The thing about Stinson Beach I do not like is called Seadrift, a gated community that takes up the entire sandspit at the opening of Bolinas Lagoon. All beaches are public in California, but access to them over private property is not guaranteed, and the Seadrift residents do their best to keep outsiders away, much like Malibu.
