Boca Brewery utilized the cool climate, abundant spring water, and rail transport to brew beer here from 1876 until the buildings burned down in 1893. The brewery site is now under Interstate 80, but a California Lager re-creation is now produced by Anchor Brewing.

Boca Dam and Reservoir

Boca is an historic spot on the Truckee River, site of the Boca Brewery from 1879 to 1896. Boca lager was brewed with local spring water and ice, shipped by train to San Francisco.
