360° VR Panoramas of Lake Tahoe, Northern Sierra, and the Gold Country
Volcano
Amador County, California

The original settlers thought the circular valley was the crater of a volcano, hence the name. The general store here has been in business since 1852 and the Saint George Hotel dates from 1862.

The Volcano Theater Company has been putting on dramatic presentations since 1854. It now has two venues, the 33-seat Cobblestone Theater and the larger outdoor Volcano Amphitheater.
