Don Bain's 360° Panoramas of the
Black Hills and Badlands
For tourists coming from the east, the Black Hills are the first western mountains to be encountered. As a result they have come to represent the Rocky Mountains, which they are not really part of, and the "wild West" in general.
The Black Hills region also encompasses the dramatic Badlands, historic gold mining towns including notorious Deadwood, abundant wildlife, the annual motorcycle rally at Sturgis, several large caves, and Mount Rushmore. Along with these has come a lot of tacky development. But despite the crowds and distractions, the landscapes are truly beautifual and the history compelling.
