Nez Perce National Historic Park

thumbnail - Tipi at the Nez Perce National Historical Park visitor center

The visitor center for Nez Perce National Historical Park is here in the dry foothills of northwestern Idaho, a few miles east of the Snake River. It was a focus for the tribe because of the early mission and later Presbyterian church, the Indian agent's base, and the general store, plus the river and later the railroad. But the Nez Perce roamed over a huge area, as symbolized by this tipi.
